Ramblings around Washington State. Natural wonders of my world. I am forever trying to learn. Strong caution, pictures of plants may include bugs, spiders and other "creepy" things.
Natural history plants flowers bugs birds biologies. Geology weather conservation and gentle hikes.
We are usually pretty mild, but this year , with El Nino , we are down right balmy. We have had the usual gray days but without the tons of rain or cold weather. Usual for this area we had our coldest days early in December, before winter starts
It is a bit chilly in the morning and this weather pattern is giving the Olympics their OK snow. It freezes up there at night.
Our snow pack is OK , not great and that can be problematic in the Summer.
I am itching to get on with the wild flowers and I suspect they will start getting good in the dry side of the state in 2 or three weeks. I am actually thinking of a visit to Texas for the wildflower season. Even Death Vally might be a good choice.
But today and the next few to come are the bliss before March and the wild winds start. It will be interesting to see what the long range forecast will say about that, too.
Oh, I'm so envious. You are so far ahead of us. I'm so glad that you had a chance to enjoy that beautiful day.
ReplyDeleteI swear you're ahead of us in Austin!

Hard to believe February has slipped by.
