Happy Earth Day

Yesterday was the Birthday of John Muir. To celebrate Earth Day here are some of my favorite pictures from the last year and some quotes from Mr Muir.

"Who wouldn't be a mountaineer! Up here all the worlds prizes seem nothing."

"Everybody needs beauty as well as bread"

"In every walk with nature one receives more than one seeks."

"The power of imagination makes us infinite."

"Earth has no sorrow the Earth cannot heal."

"There is a love of wild nature in everybody, an ancient mother-love showing itself whether recognized or no, and however covered by cares and duties.

We never know where we must go or what guides we are to get...

  1. Happy Earth Day to you too! I think I will celebrate by going out and digging in dirt. Hard work, but, so satisfying in the end.

  2. Thank you Louise. I think rescue of some of those old Daffodills is an excellent way to spend your day.

Though I know nothing of gardening and would ask if you need to set the bulbs to rest in the shed or can you directly transplant.

I am looking forward to your pictures of the new life in Your Woods. I really wonder if that one is a rein orchid
