Humid and Sticky

Yesterday Inger ( Desert Girl) asked me if we have Indian Summer up here.

Currently she is sweltering in high desert heat. It is the backside of our current weather cycle.

We are getting Pineapple Express, our November weather, overlapped on our usual September warm weather.

Together it equals a heat and humidity we are not much use to.

This has been a very odd September

Professor Mass has some interesting computer images on his blog that readily illustrate this. I have never seen these moisture plumes as distinct as this.

He predicts with the set up of La Nina we will have a colder and wetter winter. Seems we are already having a bit of November.

  1. Despite being an African, I love the cold - the cooler the temps, the better ! I cannot bear heat and humidity - especially together, so really feel for you :)

  2. Our miserable hot Summer has finally departed, leaving a cool crisp Fall. I'm glad to see it go, though I will miss all of the flowers.

I have been reading about your odd weather. Strange things going on, all over the US this year.

  3. You can say that again, sweltering I am. It was in the 100s yesterday and very hot today too. I heard it was 111 degrees in Los Angeles. Don't know if that's true, but I'm sure it was much hotter than usual there too. Thanks for the explanation -- hope this ends soon. -- Inger
